Hello, I'm Zeno (zen-oh)!

I'm a recent graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, with a bachelor's degree in Journalism and a minor in Recreation, Sports & Tourism.

I'm currently a freelance sports journalist looking for full-time jobs in the fields of sports journalism, marketing and communications.

A little bit about me.

Born in Lubbock, Texas to two immigrant parents, my earliest memories in life were about sports. I grew up idolizing Michael Crabtree and Graham Harrell. I moved a lot in my early life, landing in Memphis, Tennessee for a short while before landing in what I thought was my forever home of Almost Heaven in Morgantown, West Virginia. I spent five years in Morgantown, where I was molded the most by sports. I went on to look up to some of the greatest WVU sports teams. Bob Huggins leading a crew of Da'Sean Butler, Kevin Jones and Devin Ebanks to the Final Four. A Press Virginia Team with Jevon Carter and Daxter Miles. Geno Smith and Tavon Austin lighting up defenses across the land.

It wasn't until 2012 that I landed in what's been my forever home since. Middle and high school in Champaign, Illinois has earned me the title of a townie by University of Illinois standards. Pre-U of I, I paid very little attention to Illinois Athletics. That was until I started my college journey in 2019.

Once I started my career in Journalism, I began writing with K League United, where I covered the Korean soccer team of my parent's hometown in South Korea, Pohang Steelers.

Since starting college, I have developed an ever-growing passion for U of I Athletics, covering volleyball, men's and women's basketball and football for The Champaign Room.
